Rules & Policies


Memorial Day Weekend marks the beginning of summer excitement for swimmers and sun worshippers. The pool and pool snack bar open Saturday, May 24.


Pool Hours

The pool opens the Saturday before Memorial Day and closes after Labor Day. It is then closed every other Monday except Memorial Day and Labor Day. Normal pool hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Pool Snack Bar Hours

Tues. - Sat.  11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Sun.            12 p.m. - 4 p.m.

All persons entering the pool area are required to register at the front desk. Members may not have in-town guests (Shelby County residents) on weekends or holidays. The holidays are Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. Guest charges are $5.50 on weekdays and $8 on weekends. Members are limited to 5 guests per family per day. If you have 6 or more guests, each will be charged $8.

  • No running
  • Listen to the life guards
  • No outside food or beverages
  • No food on the deck
  • No diving in the shallow end
  • No Horseplay
  • No abusive language
  • Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult
  • No swimming under or in front of the diving board
  • One person at a time on the diving board
  • No running on the diving board
  • One bounce only on the diving board
  • Make sure diving area is clear before jumping
 

Policies

  • Pool hours will be posted in the monthly bulletin.
  • The swimming pool is free to members, their spouses and unmarried minor dependent children.
  • All persons entering the pool are required to register at the pool before entering the pool.
  • Members may not have in-town guests on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. Out-of-town guests are permitted at any time. Out-of town guests are considered those residing outside Shelby County, Tennessee. A charge will be made for each guest using the pool. Guests will be admitted to the pool only when accompanied by a member. Any exception to this rule must be approved by the Manager. Members are responsible for their guest’s conduct.
  • Persons in bathing suits are not permitted on the golf courses, putting greens, or in the Club House. Bathing suits are to be worn in the swimming pool area or on the walkways leading from the locker rooms located in the bathhouse.
  • No one except bathers, properly attired, shall be permitted in the pool or on the wet walk. No food, drinks, tobacco, glassware or foreign matter will be permitted in the pool or wet walk area.
  • All bathers are requested to use showers before entering swimming pool. Baskets are availabel for closthes and belongings that may be safer away from the pool area for $2 per day.
  • Lifeguards will be on duty at all times when the pool is open to members and guests. No one is permitted to use pool when lifeguards are off duty.
  • Lifeguards are in complete charge of the pool and pool area and shall be instructed to regulate the conduct of the bathers in that area. Guards will exercise their authority to prevent swimmers and bathers from doing anything that might cause injury to either himself or anyone else.
  • Picnic areas are not available outside the pool area. All food is required to be purchased from and eaten on the pool snack area while using the facilities. The snack bar is open 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The grill closes at 3:00 p.m.
  • The foregoing regulations for the conduct of the pool are such as to furnish the greatest pleasure for the greatest number and are in keeping with the requirements promulgated by the Memphis and Shelby County Health Department. Members and guests are requested to cooperate to the utmost in observing the foregoing regulations in order to assure the pool of the highest health and safety ratings.
  • Large parties such as birthday parties, etc., must be held on weekdays and must be previously arranged with the Manager.
  • Bathers using the swimming pool or in the swimming pool area shall be properly attired. Such attire being defined as the regular and customary apparel ordinarily used by bathers.

Swim Team

Windyke Country Club has a competitive swim team called the Windyke Piranhas that competes in the Country Club League. Swimmers from 5-19 years old can participate. Each swimmer's family must be a member in good standing of the club.
