Whether you're looking for a competitive tennis match to test your skills or simply friends to leisurely enjoy a few strokes with, you've come to the right place. The Windyke tennis program offers private lessons, clinics, tournaments and open play for beginners and advanced players alike. Enjoy indoor and outdoor tennis with all ages at the Windyke tennis facility.
General Information
Facilities
Windyke has five outdoor courts, three indoor courts, a tennis shop and restrooms. The tennis shop has racquets, accessories and apparel for men and women. We are happy to special order items, when possible. Stringing and racquet customization are available within 24 hours. The tennis shop phone number is 901.754.2430.
All members are required to register themselves and their guests in the Tennis Shop before entering the courts.
Guests
Guest fees are $10 per day. Each member is responsible for the actions and financial obligations of his/her guests.
Court Reservations
Court reservations are highly recommended during prime hours. There is no fee for outdoor play.
Indoor Courts
Reservations are highly recommended during the indoor season (October - March). Indoor court fees are $18 per hour. Reservatoins are accepted up to 72 hours in advance. Cancellations less than 12 hours in advance will be charged for one hour of court time.
Contracts are agreements by a person (or group) to reserve a court at the same time each week during an indoor session. The contract holder is responsible for any scheduling needs and payment of guest fees.

Tennis Instruction
MJ Garnett, USPTA
MJ holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from Jacksonville State University, where he earned 1991 All-American honors and reached the NCAA finals. MJ has coached nationally ranked players at college and junior levels, twice coaching back-to-back state high school champions. He has coached adult teams to local, state and sectional titles. Since arriving at Windyke in 1997, the tennis program has grown to accommodate over 300 players, while the teaching staff provides approximately 100 hours of instruction each week.
Today, MJ's primary teaching focus is ladies tennis. His goal is to further their enjoyment of the game through increasing skills and tactical awareness. MJ continues to further his education through USPTA workshops and has been a featured speaker at conferences and Professional Tennis Management programs. Continuing to play several events each year, MJ was named the 2006 USPTA Southern Player of the Year and is a member of the Prince National Team. MJ, age 37, his wife, Jill, and children (Savannah, 7, Emily, 4, and Grace, 1) live in Collierville, Tennessee.

Adult CardioTennis
Get a heart-pumping workout every morning (classes for children, too!).
Mon. – Thurs. / 8 a.m. - 8:55 a.m. / $16 per class or $80 for six classes.
Advanced CardioTennis Tues. and Fri. / 10:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. / $18 per class.
Junior Instruction
WINDYKE JUNIOR TENNIS DEVELOPMENT
The junior academy consists of elite instruction directed by our professionally certified staff. Private coaching will complement calsses suited for every level from beginner to nationally ranked students. Fun leagues and tournaments are integrated into every part of the program. The Quickstart program will be used exclusively in our entry level classes.

Leagues
Windyke sponsors many teams in USTA competition throughout the year. Intraclub leagues are scheduled throughout the year. Interclub leagues are schedule in the summer.
Intraclub: These leagues are for Windyke members only and provide an excellent opportunity for those interested in regularly scheduled social competition.
Interclub: These brief leagues involve Windyke members and other selected clubs in the area. Interclub leagues and matches are scheduled primarily in the summer.
USTA: Windyke sponsors teams in sanctioned competition at the local level. Each year several Windyke teams advance to the state, southern and national levels. There are three sanctioned leagues per year. Team participation is for Windyke memebrs only. 2008 Tennis Event Highlights

Congratulations!
Congratulations to Teresa Taylor and Linda Abercrombie for leading their teams to the finals of the USTA Tri-Level Summer League in the 3.0/3.5/4.0 division. This was the largest league in the state! All those who acted as captains this summer deserve recognition for their hard work. Thanks to Lesley Mitchell, Kay Bradford, Linda Stephens and Shannon Jones for making tennis at Windyke more enjoyable for all of us!
