Swimming Facilities at Windyke Country Club

FACILITIES

Members entering the pool area are required to sign in at the Welcome Desk and register any non-member guests in attendance. For each guest, the weekday guest fee is $8 and the weekend guest fee is $10. These charges will be placed on the member's account. 


Additionally, babysitter/nanny passes are available for $25 per week or $50 per month. Grandparents may bring their grandchildren to the pool at no charge.

Monday: Closed

Tuesday - Thursday: 10:30 AM - 6 PM

Friday & Saturday: 10:30 AM - 7 PM

Sunday:  12 PM - 6 PM


DETAILS

  • Pool Rules

    • No running
    • Listen to the lifeguards
    • No outside food or beverages
    • No food on the deck
    • No diving in the shallow end
    • No Horseplay
    • No abusive language
    • Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult
    • No swimming under or in front of the diving board
    • One person at a time on the diving board
    • No running on the diving board
    • One bounce only on the diving board
    • Make sure diving area is clear before jumping

  • Pool Policies

    • Pool hours will be posted in the monthly bulletin.
    • The swimming pool is free to members, their spouses, and unmarried minor children.
    • All persons entering the pool are required to sign-in at the Welcome Desk before entering the pool.
    • A charge will be made for each guest using the pool. Guests will be admitted to the pool only when accompanied by a member. Any exception to this rule must be approved by the Manager. Members are responsible for their guest’s conduct.
    • Proper bathing attire is to be worn in the pool area and no person will be allowed to enter the pool without a bathing suit.
    • All bathers are requested to use showers before entering the swimming pool.
    • Lifeguards will be on duty at all times when the pool is open to members and guests. No one is permitted to use the pool when lifeguards are off duty.
    • Lifeguards are in complete charge of the pool area and will regulate the conduct of the bathers in that area. Guards will exercise their authority to prevent swimmers and bathers from any unsafe activity.
    • Picnic areas are not available outside the pool area. All food is required to be purchased from the pool snack bar or clubhouse while using the facilities. 
    • The foregoing regulations for the conduct of the pool are such as to furnish the greatest pleasure for the greatest number and are in keeping with the requirements promulgated by the Memphis and Shelby County Health Department. Members and guests are requested to cooperate to the utmost in observing the foregoing regulations to assure the pool of the highest health and safety ratings.

POOL SNACK BAR

The Windyke pool offers a full-service snack bar.

Menu items include burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, ice cream, frozen treats, carbonated drinks, beer, wine and much more. Special orders and limited alcoholic beverages from the Bar & Grille are also available upon request. In accordance with Windyke bylaws, only food and beverages purchased at Windyke may be consumed on the property.

CABANAS

Our private poolside cabanas and tables are available to reserve. Each cabana comes with a private table and umbrella, two chaise lounges with a side table, pool towels and service provided by our lifeguards. Please call the pool office to reserve, 901.754.7772. Cabanas are $20 for half a cabana per weekday; $35 full cabana per weekday and $30 for half a cabana per weekend/holiday and $50 full cabana per weekend/holiday.

LOCKERS

Lockers with locks are available in both the men's and women's locker rooms at the pool. Please see the lifeguard staff when you arrive to secure a locker. 

POOL PARTIES

Whether it is a birthday, a graduation, a sending-off, or just a get-together, the Windyke Pool is the perfect place to host your party.

We offer after-hours parties from June - August 4, they may start after

6:30 PM and are offered on limited Saturdays and Sundays for members only. During-hours parties are offered Tuesday through Friday for smaller groups of 10 or less for members only.

SWIMMING LESSONS

Not only is Windyke's pool a great place to come relax, but also it is the best place for you to learn how to swim. 

Our certified lifeguards offer individual and group lessons for our members from ages 1 year to 100 years old! 


Individual lessons are a great option to work on specific skills and techniques or if you prefer one-on-one instruction. One-on-one private thirty-minute  lessons are available Tuesday - Saturday.


Our group lessons are 30 minutes and taught from a structured lesson plan. We offer baby and me, basic group, and intermediate group lessons. Click the link below to find an option that fits your schedule!

4 week course on Saturdays beginning June 8 9:30


Junior Lifeguard Camp: ($250)

1 week course (Mon-Thu) July 29 - August 1 9:30-12:30

SWIM TEAM

Windyke Country Club has a competitive swim team called the Windyke Piranhas that competes in the Country Club League. The requirements to be part of the swim team are the swimmer must be between the ages of 5-18, a member of the club in good standing (you can swim under a grandparent's membership), able to swim 25 yards (one lap of the pool) unassisted and float on their back.
